Bishan's practice spans the wide range of company law, commercial law, tax law, insolvency law, criminal defense and employment law, encompassing contentious and non-contentious matters. He also has a particular interest in arbitration.
Bishan was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2012 and the Mauritian Bar in 2015 and has experience before the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council, Supreme Court of Mauritius, Intermediate Court, District Courts and Tribunals, especially the Employment Relations Tribunal and the Environmental and Land Use Appeal Tribunal.
EDUCATION
Bishan was awarded the Birmingham Law School Excellence Scholarship to read law at the University of Birmingham. He then obtained an overall grade of ‘Very Competent’ and an ‘Outstanding’ in Advocacy on the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) at the College of Law, London. He went on to study for an LLM in International Business Law with specialisation in International Commercial and Investment Arbitration, International Financial Law, International Tax Law and Corporate Governance at King’s College, London.
