Imaan joined the Chambers of Sir Hamid Moollan KC in September 2020 after completing her pupillage within the set. Imaan’s main practice involves Civil and Criminal law with a particular interest in Family law. Imaan has appeared before the Supreme Court, including its Family and Commercial divisions as well as the Intermediate Court and District Courts.
She is also a teaching assistant conducting the “Law of contracts” module tutorials on the Mauritian campus of the Université Panthéon-Assas.
EDUCATION
Imaan read English and French law at the University of Exeter, and thereafter obtained a Master I in European Law from the Université de Rennes I in partnership with L’École Normale Supérieure de Rennes. She then completed the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) with an overall grade of ‘Very Competent’ at City, University of London.
She was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn in July 2019 and to the Mauritian Bar in September 2020.
Imaan has also completed the “Diplôme Universitaire en droit civil Mauricien” from the Université de la Réunion, writing her dissertation on “The Hague Convention on the civil aspects of international child abduction 1980, an analysis from the Mauritian practitioner’s point of view”.
