Hisham has joined the Chambers of Sir Hamid Moollan KC in September 2011 and is involved in both criminal and civil litigation.
Hisham has appeared before the various courts and tribunals in Mauritius in criminal, civil, family, employment, and commercial matters. He has also assisted the prosecution for various criminal cases at District Court level and has been conducting the cases on behalf of the prosecution. Hisham has appeared as leading counsel in several high-profile criminal cases before the Assizes.
Hisham teaches Commercial Law and Company Law at undergraduate level since September 2010 and is an MQA approved trainer in Employment Law.
Hisham had been chosen as the chairperson of the Young Bar Committee in 2016 a sub committee of the Bar Council.
He has also been elected as a member of the Bar Council in the years 2017, 2021 and 2022. He was the treasurer of the Bar Council in the year 2022.
EDUCATION
Hisham is an LLB (Hons) graduate from the University of Hertfordshire. He was awarded the Postgraduate Diploma, Very Competent, on the Bar Vocational Course from the University of Northumbria in June 2010. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales in July 2010 at the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple and the Mauritian Bar in September 2011.
