Sir Hamid was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1976 and conferred the dignity of Knighthood for services to the legal profession in 1986.
Sir Hamid has appeared before all jurisdictions in Mauritius as well as in Seychelles and other jurisdictions in the Indian Ocean Rim countries. He appears regularly before the Privy Council. In the immediate past he has acted as Chairman of the LCIA / MIAC arbitrations Board. Sir Hamid has furthermore participated as Arbitrator or Counsel in several arbitrations, both domestic and international.
EDUCATION
Sir Hamid read law at King’s College, London and the Faculté de Droit, Université de Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne. He was called to the Bar at the Middle Temple.
